Where finds come from

Which platform is your find on?

Boonbuy can purchase from five Chinese marketplaces through a single account. You almost never pick the platform manually — the link decides — but knowing the source sets the right expectations on price, variety and minimum order.

Most guides mention only three platforms. Boonbuy reaches five, so more of what you find is actually buyable through one account — including brand-official Tmall shops and JD electronics that some agents can’t handle. Here is what each one means for you.

Taobao

The largest consumer marketplace in China: enormous variety, single-item purchases, and the home of most everyday finds. If you are new, most of your links will be Taobao.

Weidian

Smaller independent sellers and boutique storefronts, popular for trend-driven items. Stock can be limited, so confirm availability early.

1688

A wholesale and sourcing platform. Unit prices can be lower, but listings may carry a minimum order quantity — great for multiples, less so for one piece.

Tmall

Official brand storefronts with stricter seller standards than Taobao. Useful when you want a listing from a verified brand shop.

JD (Jingdong)

A large, logistics-focused retailer strong in electronics and daily goods, with fast domestic handling on the China side.

How to tell — and why it matters

The platform is usually visible on the listing or in the link’s domain. It rarely changes what you do, but it hints at price level (1688 lower, Tmall brand-official) and whether a minimum quantity might apply.
